An online shop sells even when the physical shop is closed. Here is what to decide before you start.
An online shop sells 24 hours a day, across Europe, without extra rent. But success does not depend on technology alone: it depends on a few decisions you should make before the build starts.
1. Products and photos
The customer cannot touch the product, so photos are your salesperson. Clear photos, clean background, several angles. Accurate descriptions: size, material, delivery time.
2. Payments
Offer more than one method: card, PayPal and cash on delivery. In Kosovo cash on delivery still matters; for customers in Germany and Switzerland card and PayPal are the standard.
3. Shipping and returns
Shipping costs should be calculated automatically and shown before checkout. A clear return policy builds trust and increases sales.
4. Order management
The shop needs a panel where you see orders, update stock and print invoices, without a developer. Connecting it to your invoicing saves hours every week.
5. Trust
Company details, easy contact, SSL and real customer reviews. That is enough to turn an unknown visitor into a buyer.
